Handmade - What Is It And What You Pay For.

Handmade jewelry.jpg

I would like to talk about Handmade. What is it? What you pay for? And why? I divided into four groups. I would like to say that I working in the first three and actively try to finally the fourth. And each group has a right to exist, to fulfill its purpose and includes sometimes very beautiful work.
1. Assembling from furniture. For some timeI see veryoften "masters", doing "100 % handmade".  You come in to such  a shop and see – there isthe prepared beadsthreadedon spandex, and this good is given out as a "bangle from the natural stones of handwork". It can look beautifully. It reflects aesthetic taste of the author. But not moreover. Anddoes not haveany attitude towards a handwork. It must cost cheap, It is for sale exceptionally for earning of money and a benefit from collection of similar objects for the development of a taste, style. If man no longer does nothing except similar, it is difficult to name himof a master. Otherwise the Chinese pens that arecollected by hands on a conveyer - it is possible to consider to be handmade too.Assembling from furniture.jpg
2. Hand-made articles - that is all, that an average man is able to do for the pair of hours, looking master class in the internet and buying materials. Various decoupage, coulombs from epoxyd resin, cakes from polymeric clay and others like that. Here a customer pays for aesthetic taste of author, design and for material too. But if it is a top of work of man - he went not far away from the above-mentioned Chinese pens.

3. Authorial work - it is that a customer can not do. For making of wares from this group the special skills, very good taste, original designer thinking, special instruments and great deal, are needed and many other. In this group the real work begins and masters work exactly in it. Here a customer pays for a time of a master, for inspiration, for a design. For materials - in the last turn. Buying work of master, he finances talent. And inlays the facilities in that the world around became though a bit more beautiful. Certainly, similar objects cost expensive. They are bought rarely. And a successful shop usually plugs in itself wares from previous groups, if wants to be worth.

4. Works of art – that isfor whatan exceptional skills are needed and one working day minimum. Present an undeniable artistic value in itself, as a good picture or sculpture. Even for very talented masters farnot always turn out. A customer pays for an art.
Naturally, even masters often use factory purveyances in the works. In fact to make cabоchon out of stone for painting or pouring off a metallic loop is difficult in domestic terms. And there is no sense for example to inlay several hundreds in an equipment and apartment, to spend years on mastering of jeweller business, if you simply want to draw on stones. But the miniature painting and decoupage are different things. It is impossible to name and sell them for analogical prices.
In conclusion I want to say that I do not see nothing bad in that people resell prepared furniture in 10 times more expensive in general. If yet find customers it is enough, to live on it - so in general fine fellows. More pleasant, than to be a slave in an office. Only it is not needed to name it "work", by "unique authorial work" and to equate masters with wares.
